Saturday, 15th January 2005

10:00am – 11:00pm Venue: Penang Diocesan Centre

Venue: Operation/collection centre:-
-Buying of more essential items for women and men
-More undergarments, toothbrushes, combs, soap, towels, cotton buds, sanitary pads and razors -2,000 packs for women, 2,000 packs for men.

Shopping!
-Bought kitchen stuff to create and immediate mobile kitchen.
Each Relief Centre in Aceh will receive:
2 big gas stoves, 1 wok, 2 big pots, ladles, 1 chopping board, 1 box of cooking oil, 1 box of Axion dish wash, knives, scissors, 1 packet of curry powder, chilly powder and nasi goring paste, 1 box of tomato and chilly sauce.

Packing of goods into plastic bags and boxes.

Venue: Warehouse:-
-Palleting of goods in warehouse.Palleting done free of charge by -forwarding company, Curio Pack Sdn. Bhd. Bless them!

Venue: Sunset mass @ Assumption Church:-
Fr Fabian projected pix of Banda Aceh to parishioners during homily. Many were touched by the sharing and were moved to respond right adter mass.

Operation/collection centre:
-More sorting of clothes and receiving more medical items and food.

-Packing of medical supplies into 5 big boxes.

-Bought more stoves for Tanjung Bungah families.


Thursday, 13th January 2005

10:00am – 8:00pm Venue: Penang Diocesan Centre

Operation/collection centre:
-More sorting of clothes and receiving more medical items and food.

-Fr Fabian arrived in Penang safely. He looked so tired and worn out! Shared with us his experience and showed us pictures form his digital camera. We could not belif our eyes and ears as he recounted teh horrific sights and pain expereinced by the people of Aceh.


Wednesday, 12th January 2005

10:00am – 11:00pm Venue: Penang Diocesan Centre

Operation/collection centre :
-Labeling and numbering of boxes. This is for eacy identification by receiving NGO in Lhoksuemawe.
-Loaded175 essential boxes onto 5 ton truck.

Venue: Warehouse 9, Penang Swetenham Port
-Manual loading of supplies onto boat. We almost broke our backs doing this!
-Managed to fill up 165 tons of space.
-It was an emotional moment when the boat finally sailed! Here we come Aceh...

 

Tuesday, 11th January 2005

10:00am – 11:00pm Venue: Penang Diocesan Centre

Operation/collection centre.
-More packing of the women’s and men’s essential items.

-Addy and Susan went looking for the Quran books – 357 (that was all that we could find). Folks in Aceh had repeatedly asked for the Quran sighting that it was an essential item for the Muslims to pray...and heal from this terrible ordeal. We figured we would give them anything they want that would help them heal.


Monday, 10th January 2005

10:00am – 11:00pm Venue: Penang Diocesan Centre

Operation/collection centre reopened:
-Major buying of essential items for men & women such as toothbrush, toothpaste, face towels, soap, combs, cotton buds, sanitary pads, disposable razors, undergarments both for men & women.
-1,000 packs for women and 1,000packs for men.
-Prayer items: 330 telekung and 300 kain pelikat

-Packing into plastic bags and boxes.
-About 80 volunteers came to help. Bless them all!
