PENANG DIOCESAN LENTEN CAMPAIGN 2012
Taking the cue from Mark 6:5 (“He placed his hands on a few sick people and healed them.”), ‘HELP TO HEAL’ is the theme for this year’s Lenten Campaign of the Penang Diocese.
God is merciful and loving; in His mercy He heals us.
Helping others was something Jesus did on a daily basis. He was constantly approached by people, but He always found time to stop what He was doing to help those in need.
There are many ways to help the poor and the needy. It does not matter what you give. Even the smallest effort counts and every cent means a lot to the poor and needy.
When we give help to someone who is in need, we make the world a better place.
As with every year, Penang Diocese came out with materials for the Lenten Campaign, which are banners, posters, flyers, envelopes and T-shirts, which were distributed to all parishes. T-shirts for Love Squad were given free but the other T-shirts were for sale.
The flyer on one side explained the different ministries that POHD is involved in and also a pie-chart that shows how the funds collected in the 2011 campaign was spent. The bulk of it (51%) went to Human Development projects, followed by 20% for medical aid.
