The Lighthouse - A Place of Hope, started humbly with just a feeding centre for the homeless and the poor at the premise of the Church of St Francis Xavier, Penang Road, Penang. It opened its door three times a week on 19 March 2003, with 12 volunteers and six homeless people (thereby refered to as 'clients'). Since then it had expanded tremendously - to become a place of hope, not only for feeding the hungry but providing them basic anemities. Gradually, other projects sprung up like the Lightworks and Bright Sparks.
Presently, the Lighthouse - A Place of Hope, consists of the following.
1. LIGHTHOUSE DROP-IN CENTRE. A place for the homeless and hungry to drop in where food are provided. Basic amenities like recreation, bath, clinic are also available. Know more...
2. LIGHTWORKS. Lightworks draws its experience and manpower from the Lighthouse clients (those who drop in the centre) to engage them in work, at the same time providing services to the public. Services provided are such as Graveyard Maintenance, Grass cutting and house moving. Know more..

4. BRIGHT SPARKS. Children's Holistic Education Centre. Reaching out to children from underprivileged families, to imporve thier well-being and enable them to attain their fullest potential within an atmosphere of warmth, love and positive enforcement. Know more...
The Lighthouse office is situated at 52B Penang Road (next Cititel Hotel) on the first floor. There is also a conference room next to the office. All donations can be made here.
