16th February 2008: Chinese New Year Celebration

Approximately 100 regular clients of Lighthouse were invited to the Chinese New Year celebration at the Lighthouse. The programme for the day started with singing of popular Hokkien songs and praise songs in Hokkien by the Chinese Apostolate of Penang Island.

About 20 of Lighthouse's regular volunteers served on that day, including 4 children from Bright Sparks Centre.

The meals served, which comprised chinese vegetable soup, mushrooms, sweet & sour sausages, fried mixed vegetables, fried chicken, pandan chicken and mandarin oranges for dessert, were fully sponsored by donors. All the dishes were cooked by Lighthouse's very own cook, Mr Dickson (third from right, above right picture).

All the clients were given an angpow of RM10 each, also sponsored by donors.
