New Look at Lighthouse: February 2008
The Lighthouse was repainted recently, sponsored fully by Dell Penang.
The Lighthouse also has a new kitchen fully sponsored by a donor and a new garden. The cost of the new kitchen is approximately RM10,000. Cooks for Lighthouse now can cook in a more spacious and cooling atmosphere. We are trully grateful to our generous donor.
The Lighthouse commenced operations on 19th March 2003
and is a place where the homeless and hungry can come
to have a meal while availing themselves to other basic services
such as medical, cleaning and counseling services.
To develop the whole person - physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually
and socially - so as to enable each person and every person to experience
wholeness.
- To provide a place of belonging for the poor and the homeless
- To help restore confidence and self-esteem
- To help them gain courage and to live independent lives
- To be a place for volunteers to experience solidarity with the needy
- To be responsible for the growth and welfare of the volunteers
