The Penang Office for Human Development (POHD) is a social service organization set up in 2000 under the Catholic Church of the Diocese of Penang. It was established as an expression of the Catholic Social Teaching, which stems from the teachings of Christ in the Gospel, with the main intentions of responding to the needs of the poor, needy and marginalized, and promoting justice and peace in the Diocese of Penang.

UPDATES
1. LIGHTHOUSE RENOVATION. Recently, the Lighthouse went through some renovation and upgrading works. The areas that were renovated and upgraded are Bright Sparks (Children’s Holistic Education Centre), Café, Bakery, part of the Lighthouse, the Clinic, Recycling Center and Launderette. The Lighthouse Office has now shifted from the Diocesan Centre in Macalister Road to the Lighthouse (52-B Penang Road), which in the compound of St. Francis Xavier’s Church. All of our properties are painted in white and blue.
